QUALIFICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

Any person, firm or corporation having an established place of business in the State of Michigan, and engaged in the retailing of hardware, paints, housewares, sporting goods, heating and plumbing fixtures and supplies, lawn and garden equipment and supplies and such other goods usually sold by retail hardware stores, whose application has been approved, may become an active member upon payment of the established membership fee.

It is understood that association membership is with the store and not the individual or individuals.  Therefore, if there is a change in store ownership, the paid membership will be transferred to the new owner or owners.

Only when the present store discontinues business at one location and moves to another is the membership transferable.

Your membership investment includes membership in the National Retail Hardware Association and a subscription to DO-IT-YOURSELF RETAILING, the magazine of the industry.

Dues are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes.   However, they may be deductible under other IRS provisions.
